The Forge of Vulcan
Beginner players will enjoy this exciting, powerful piece that uses only 6 notes and simple rhythms to transform them to ancient, mythical times. Vulcan is the Roman god of fire and craftsmanship whose forge, according to Roman mythology, is located beneath Mount Etna. It is here that he forges weapons for gods and heroes. Percussion is featured strongly in this chart, including an optional anvil part to depict the hammering out of ancient swords. Students will love it!
